What are effects shots
A rather broad term covering all sorts of applications. Essentially these are footage sequences that have been assembled on the computer – generally these are sequences that would be difficult or impossible to achieve in-camera. The sources can range from pure CG (ie. generated entirely on the computer), to a combination of digital and/or stills photos through to digital video or even film. Since the sequences are assembled on a computer they can often be bundled with additional sequences that can enhance as well as aid in the final composition.
Take this asteroid shot for example. If you purchased this clip and wanted to insert an object behind one of the asteroids (but in front of the planet) it would involve rotoscoping (manually tracing the outline of the asteroid) – given that the asteroids are moving this can be extremely time-consuming. However, if you had a matte sequence that matched the asteroid you would be able to composite your object into the scene with a minimum of effort. And it doesn’t stop there, there are a range of additional passes that can aid or enhance your final shot. Available passes, mattes etc. are listed on each product page. -
What are motion graphics
As the name suggests, these are animated graphics, though they will often incorporate film, video, animations, photos, illustrations and text. It sounds simple and obvious but Motion Graphics are everything but - entire books have been dedicated to the subject.
“So much of what is called motion design is pushing towards lower-end visual effects and cartooning, leaving behind content, composition, typography and colour choices that make up the foundation of good design.” - Kyle Cooper in ‘Motion by Design’
You'll have noticed that defining Motion graphics is slippery so it's probably easier to offer up examples of where motion graphics appear: feature film titles, TV serial titles, TV station idents, News titles.
The motion graphics offered for sale on InnitTV should not be viewed as stand-alone designs, rather they should be used as elements in a larger work. As such you could purchase a clip in order to incorporate it, for example, in a Documentary title sequence.

How do you handle payments
For the moment payments are handled through PayPal. PayPal, a subsidiary of EBay, is a well-established payment facilitator and according to Wikipedia, PayPal currently operates in 190 markets, and manages over 164 million accounts. The one drawback with the version we have installed here (due to geographic limitations) is that the payment processing is done on a PayPal page as opposed to on the local checkout page – this means that at the end of the checkout process you will be redirected to PayPal. Once your payment has been submitted, you are automatically returned to InnitTV – it’s not a big deal but we have found that some people who were not aware of the process wondered what was going on. A positive aspect of using PayPal is the fact that you can pay with funds from a PayPal account in addition to using your credit card. Having said that, we are in the process of evaluating different payment options and once a secure and affordable option is found, we will be implementing it.
We do offer an additional payment method which is direct bank transfer - however, this is only available within Australia. This method allows you to deposit the sale amount directly into our bank account.

In case you are wondering why our clips aren't available as downloads, this is an unfortunate consequence of offering our sequences as uncompressed animations - the resulting file-sizes are prohibitively large with HD footage reaching multiple Gigabytes. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of delays due to this limitation. We can however offer emergency FTP access though this would only be available on a per-case basis and would be dependent on the size of the order.

About compilations and clips.
Compilations
As the name suggests, compilations are groupings of individual but related clips. As such, compilations are a product in their own right and can be purchased as such – your purchase will consist of a series of clips. Of course you could purchase the same clips individually but this would be more expensive.
It is not possible to mix different standards within the same compilation eg. a PAL clip and an NTSC clip – a compilation is purchased entirely in one standard which is of your choice.
Clips
Clips are the individual animations and they can be purchased individually or as part of a compilation. A single clip is available in different standards such as PAL or NTSC

Do you accept commissions?
Absolutely we do. Commissions fall into two categories:
Clips for which you own the rights: these are clips that we generate exclusively for you. As such they would not be eligible for sale via our site.
Clips for which we own the rights: these are clips we generate for you, according to your brief - however, we would retain the rights to these clips and as such they would be eligible for subsequent sale on our site. Of course this would mean that you would be charged a much smaller fee than would have been the case for the previous option.
Deciding which option to choose is entirely up to you. To get started please contact us via our Contact Page.
In addition to accepting commissions we are also able to modify existing clips to suit your specific requirements.
